Towven.com – On Sunday, March 2, 2025, at approximately 10:13 p.m. PST, a magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck Los Angeles, with its epicenter near North Hollywood.
The tremor occurred just hours after the conclusion of the 97th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre.
Residents across various parts of Los Angeles, including Pasadena, Long Beach, San Fernando Valley, Torrance, Redondo Beach, and Glendale, reported feeling the quake.
Despite the widespread shaking, there were no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage.
The Los Angeles Fire Department announced that they would not be entering “earthquake mode,” a protocol involving inspections of buildings and infrastructure following a substantial quake.

The earthquake’s timing coincided with numerous Oscars afterparties across the city.
Notably, tremors were captured during a live stream of the Vanity Fair party at the Wallis Annenberg Center, located about four miles from the Dolby Theatre.
Attendees, including celebrities such as Adrien Brody and Zoe Saldana, experienced the brief shaking but continued with the festivities.
Los Angeles frequently experiences minor earthquakes due to its location along several active fault lines. While Sunday’s quake was relatively mild, it served as a reminder of the region’s seismic activity.
Authorities continue to monitor for any potential aftershocks, though none have been reported at this time.
