Towven.com – Los Angeles, CA – In a verdict delivered Tuesday afternoon, rapper A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was found not guilty on all charges in connection with a 2021 shooting incident in Hollywood.
The jury deliberated for several hours before reaching their decision, which brings an end to the nearly month-long trial.
Mayers was accused of firing a handgun at his former friend, A$AP Relli, during an altercation in November 2021. Relli, who is also a member of the A$AP Mob, claimed he was struck by bullet fragments in the incident.
Mayers faced two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, each carrying a potential sentence of up to nine years in prison.

The trial garnered significant attention due to Mayers’ celebrity status and the involvement of his girlfriend, singer Rihanna, who was present in the courtroom for several days of the proceedings.
The defense argued that Mayers acted in self-defense and that the shooting was not intentional. They also raised questions about the credibility of Relli’s testimony.
The verdict was met with cheers and applause from Mayers’ supporters in the courtroom.
The rapper embraced his attorneys and family members, including Rihanna, who appeared relieved and emotional. Mayers did not make a statement to the press following the verdict.
The outcome of the trial marks a significant legal victory for Mayers, who can now focus on his music career and other endeavors.
He is currently working on his fourth studio album, “Don’t Be Dumb,” which is expected to be released later this year
